This site allows you to view the exchanges available from Rushey Green Time Bank members. It allows you to see where the exchange is and offer to help. We ask that you let a staff member before completing an exchange so we can make sure you have everything you need to undertake the exchange safely. We ask that all members read and adhere to Our Values and our Time Bank Exchange Guidelines while undertaking timebanking exchanges and activities. You can also log your hours and check your account after an exchange, at the click of a button.
Please take some time to post your offers and requests, be as specific as you can so members are clear what you are asking or offering. Please notify staff when you have a new exchange request so they can help you find support.
Fancy getting to know other members better? Then use the message board function to invite members to go bowling or enjoy a performance at Blackheath Halls with you. Also check out our weekly group meetings.
Many of our members aren't online, so once you know what you'd like to offer or ask for help, please email info@rgtb.org.uk to let staff know so we help facilitate exchanges and add to our monthly newsletter. Please make sure you sign up to our mailing list to receive information about upcoming events, exchange requests and upcoming activities.
Time Banking UK is the national umbrella charity linking and supporting time banks across the country. We provide support, advice, guidance, resources and training to anyone interested in learning about timebanking, incorporating timebanking into their organisation or those who want to start up community time banks.
Timebanking UK supports all models of timebanking in all settings, with organisational timebanking becoming a big part of the sustainability plans of networks across the country.
Timebanking is witnessing extraordinary growth since the first time banks in the UK in 1998. Spread to over 40 nations and 6 continents, there is now over 26,000 people time banking in the UK alone who have generated over 1.3 million hours of support for each other. There are new time banks being set up every week. With the twin drivers of the public deficit crisis and the Coalition Government’s commitment to hand more power and responsibility to local communities and individuals, the political climate could not be more supportive of time banking.
We are a charity and company limited by guarantee.
Our head office is in Stroud, Gloucestershire where our core team work and liaise with time banks across the country.
OUR VISION
Timebanking UK believes in a world in which people may have all they need for their own well being by contributing what they can to:
To do this we have three clear roles: HELPING, THINKING & DOING.
Supporting timebanking projects and our membership through advice, consultancy, training and technical support
Researching and evaluating timebanks projects, helping to shape the policy debate around coproduction and sytem change
Prototyping and piloting new models of timebanking and co-productions, such as the ‘Shares’ social marketplace.
We work primarily with organisations from the public and community sectors, in a consultancy and advisory capacity
Our training programmes cover a broad range of interests through from local community champions interested in timebanking to commissioners of public services.
Our software and support packages are open to everyone.
We are looking for DIY fixers to join our DIY Club. Please join the DIY Club under 'groups' to receive regular updates and requests. Contact Fay@rgtb.org.uk or call 07544996722 for more details or with a DIY job request.
We meet the first Friday of the month between 11am-12.30pm, to plan activities, events and work together to improve our Time Bank and make things happen. We have a Bring & Share lunch after the meeting. For more information check out our page on our website.
